PokerStars Review
PokerStars is the most trusted poker site in the industry. The entire management team has always been very involved with the players and it has created a 2-way communication environment.
PokerStars probably has the worst bonus in the industry but makes up for it with the best reputation in the industry. On top of that, you won’t find a more populated poker site in the world. There are more tournaments and cash games here than anywhere else. And if that’s not enough, no other poker site has sent as many players to the World Series of Poker as PokerStars.
Now, on to the review…
Bonus – 100% up to $600
PokerStars just recently upped its bonus amount from $50 to $600! All new players can get up to $600 added to their first deposit by using the bonus code STARS600 when making a deposit at PokerStars. There are two steps to getting this bonus:
1. When you sign up at PokerStars, use the marketing code PSP11467
2. When you make a deposit, use the bonus code STARS600
You can use up to three separate deposits to get as much bonus money as you want, up to a maximum of $600. The only condition is that you make your subsequent deposits within 90 days of making your first deposit. After that, you’ll have 6 months to clear the entire bonus.

Software
Thanks to all of the management’s communication with the poker players, PokerStars has developed the best poker software I’ve ever seen. It has all the regular features you expect like table filters so you can block out limits you don’t play, full games and stuff like that but it goes beyond that.
The software has options galore. You can set preferences for how the tables tile on your monitor so that when you open new tables they automatically resize and position themselves to where you want them to go.
Some of the other software features include:
- Four color decks
- Certain tables have 50 big blind minimums (no shortstacks allowed)
- Table themes (change the looks and colors to make it easier on the eyes)
- Final table deal-making
Traffic
PokerStars is the busiest site on the planet so you’ll never have a problem finding games. No matter how obscure your favorite game may be, you’ll find other people ready to play. The cash games are busy all the way from .01c/.02c to $200/$400 NL. All kinds of tournaments are run around the clock in a variety of formats.
Last time I checked the traffic was at 6:00PM on a Friday evening and there were 129,000 players online.
Competition
With all those players out there, you’re going to find a wide mix of the very best opponents and the absolute fishiest. There are so many people online that you should never have a problem finding easy competition. As in all poker sites, the fish outnumber the sharks by a large margin.
Deposit Options
Whether you’re playing from the US or anywhere around the world, you’ll find plenty of deposit options. My two favorite methods are the Instant e-checks and ePassporte. Both methods are reliable and the e-checks instantly credit your poker account so you will be playing in no time.
The list of deposit options includes:
* Instant eChecks
* ePassporte
* Visa
* MasterCard
* Diners Club International
* Western Union
* Cash Transfer Express Payment
* Money Order / Cashier’s Check
